Leaving from the port of Fuenterabia the men on the Spanish fishing vessel IZARZURI fish the tuna the traditional way,respecting the natural fauna.
The tuna fish are caught with fishing rods made of fibre or bamboo rods over 5 meters long.The water sprayed on the surface of the sea is to imitate the movement of small fish,which the tuna surface to catch.Bait is thrown into the spray to attract the tuna,which are then caught by hook and line.
This method of fishing allows a certain amount of fish to escape,thus does not overkill the shoals of tuna.
