Since the attempted Genocide of the Tutsi people by the Hutus in Rwanda in 1994, 120,000 people have been detained on charges of Genocide by the Rwandan authorities.

The attempted Genocide in which over 800,000 Tutsis as well as liberal Hutus were slaughtered in a 100 day killing spree, ranks as one of the great crimes against humanity.
