The "tantra" of Kalachakra is a buddhist meditation practice,part of the tantras of the supreme yoga, the most profound teachings.
Initiation to Kalachakra is made by the passage through a graphic form,the mandala,the house of the gods. One of the traditions uses a mandala made by colored sand , patiently constructed , as the very beginning of all initiation rituals. At the end of the ceremony the mandala is destroyed.

This story was shot in Rome,where the famous mandalas of the Dharmsala Namgyal monastery were exhibited and where the invited monks constructed a giant sand mandala.
