For a Parisian summer time in Paris, Martin Parr show his new series on beaches in an exclusive exhibition with clichés never seen before.
The beach is a territory dear to the heart of Martin Parr, who follows the vernacular tradition of beach photography. Great Britain being an island, the sea is never more than 120 kilometers away. The beach is a national pastime. To Martin Parr, it is an open-air photographic studio. He has never stopped returning there since the bittersweet series he produced in the seaside resort of Brighton, which made him famous in the 1980s.
This summer, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche unveils a first look at new seaside series made on the beaches of Argentina, Peru, Spain and Italy. Thirty-seven photographs will be shown in the front windows of rue de Sèvres, rue de Babylone and rue du Bac.
