Karl Adolf EICHMANN (born in Solingen/Germany in 1906, executed in Ramla Israel 1962) was formerly in the German Police Force.He entered the Nazi NSDAP Party as head of the Service dealing with Jewish questions of the Security Committee of the Reich in 1939.It was he who proposed to Adolf HITLER the "final solution" of the Jewish problem, and organised the deportation of millions of Jews to extermination/concentration camps.Following World War II he escaped to Argentina in 1945 and hid there under a false identity until the Israeli Secret Police kidnapped him and brought him back to Jerusalem in 1960 for trial. He was put on trial in 1961, and given the death sentence for "crimes against humanity".Found guilty on all counts,he was hanged.

After reading of the 15 charges against him, EICHMANN stood up and said that he had been only a cog in the Nazi wheel;"In the sense of the charges,I am not guilty".
