Roman Emperors knew it well, in the city of APHRODISIAS beyond the Aegian Sea were artists, the best in the Empire.It exported its art to the Imperial Emprie,via the ports of Ephesus or Miletus.The city remained lost until 1964 when Turkish photographer Ara Guler took during the night a wrong route and stumbled across the small farming village of Geyre on his route from Aydin.The next morning he discovered farmers using ancient Greek columns to prop up their houses,and they showed him among their fields the incredible Agora of the Goddess Aphrodite and her temple of the 2nd century.
