The 4 day hiking competion was conducted under the sponsorship of the armed forces. Several military units took part. They walked 40 klms each day with a full 'field load' pack of ten kilos and weapons.The purpose was to make the distance as fast as possible.Nobody abandoned or passed out, it took between 4 1/2 to 5 hrs.
