The Masai territory is approximately 30,000 sq. miles lying on either side of the Rift Valley in Tanganyika and Kenya. The tribe roughly numbers 100,000 and own a million and a half of cattle. A Masai cattle sale is similar to a country fair in the UK. Besides the ring, there are side shows, refreshments, stalls and meeting grounds. 1948.
