GUATEMALA. The "Disappeared".

Larry Towell

The Mutual Support Group (GAM) was founded in June 1984 by five women whose sons, daughters, or husbands had "disappeared". The objective of the group is to demand that 40,000 individuals be returned to their families alive, or that the circumstances under which they disappeared be clarified and the people responsible be brought to justice.
