Nov. 1962. Punjab and Sikh Light Infrantry Regiment Center.The Center usually handles 1500 recruits, but this month the number has jumped to 5000. The basic training course lasts 26 weeks. Boys (ages 17 through 26) sign up for 15 years. Since the 'emergency laws' they have lowered the qualifications (ie, 1 inch less in height, and 1 inch less around the chest), thus increasing the recruiting.
