THAILAND. Lopuri.

Chien-Chi Chang

Thai people stricken with the HIV-virus flock to find their final peace at Wat Phrabat Nampo, one of the first Buddhist AIDS hospices, in Lopuri, Thailand. Their destiny had, at some point, entangled them in the net of prostitution and drug addiction or had seized them by a stroke of bad luck. Each on of them, with their life stories, can describe the start of a cataclysm: "Thailand, the hospitable free land with a great future, has been infected with HIV and is falling sick with AIDS."
