JORDAN. The Arab Legion. 1952.

George Rodger

The Camel Corps or Desert Patrol Force of the Arab Legion, was founded in 1930 as a means to stop inter-tribal conflict. They are the most colourful of the Arab Legion and are often called "Glubb's Girls", because of their long hair and riding skirts and after their commanding officer, British general John BAGOT-GLUBB , better known as Glubb Pasha, Chief of the General Staff of the Arab Legion.
