The famous Hollywood actress Gloria SWANSON is the daughter of a career officer and lived in Key West and Puerto Rico, and at the age of 15 she visited a studio set in Chicago where he mother asked for her to test to become an Opera singer.Later she went to Hollywood and appeared in a series of comedies with Max Sennet and Cecil B De Mille.Although co partnering with Rudolf Valentino, Erich Von Stroheim,Douglas Fairbanks,Mary Pickford, etc her big comeback was in 1949 in Billy Wilder's film SUNSET BOULEVARD.These photos show her at the Westport Country Playhouse north of NY where she had a summer-stock engagement in the play BETWEEN SEASONS.
