UKRAINE. Krakovets, Lviv Oblast. 05 March 2022. Thousands of Ukrainians, mostly women and children, wait in a long queue for hours to cross the border into Poland despite the cold weather. Vitalina, 28, and her daughter Michelle want to take shelter in Germany.

More than 1.5 million Ukrainian refugees have crossed the border into neighboring countries since the Russian invasion on 24th February, including 142,300 on Sunday according to the UN refugee agency data.
