ISRAEL. Negev. October 05th 2025. Memory of the 7th october 2023. Beeri Kibbutz where at least 97 civilians were killed and 30 people were abducted to Gaza (according to Human Rights Watch report on the 7th October Attack, July 2024). Here, Gome Lev Aptalou, 19, was in the kibbutz during the October 7th terrorist attack. He, his parents, his younger sister and their small dog stayed for 12 hours in the “mamad” (shed), the safe place of any house or apartment in Israel. The terrorists burnt the house while the family was inside the mamad, where the temperature reached 60 degrees. They all survived. Here, Gomé inside the "mamad".
