Peter Marlow
GB. England. On 6th December 2005, David Cameron was elected as the new Conservative Party Leader. The 39-year-old beat David Davis by 134,446 votes to 64,398 in a postal ballot of Tory members across the UK.
The Old Etonian, MP for Witney, Oxfordshire, has been an MP for only four years, at his election victory he said the Tories must change and be in tune with today's Britain with a "Modern Compassionate Conservatism".
During a visit to the damaged Buncefield Oil Refinery in Hemel Hempstead, Cameron travels by train from London Euston Station. 2006
