Martin Parr
USA. New York. Statue of Liberty. 'There were long queues of people waiting to climb the Statue of Liberty on this very hot summer day. The higher you climb the more unpleasant, and hotter, the experience gets. The woman in this photograph is suffering from a bit of vertigo as she stands right at the top of the statue, in the crown. This area is extremely cramped and visitors can hardly stand up, but as it is the highest accessible point is still has a magnetic attraction'. 1992.
