SUDAN. Wad Kowli. January 7th 1985.
In this camp, 42,000 of the 120,000 persons who fled the Tigre and Eritrea in Ethiopia
have found refuge. There is no hospital in the camp and 35,000 refugees from Tokalabab
have been waiting here for weeks. Each day, ten or more persons die, the victims of dehydration,
malnutrition and illnesses contracted during their long march, over a month, to flee famine.
