Turkey. 2013. Antakya. The Baraem Al Shouhada orphanage school opened August 2013 with 200 children aged 4-12. Most of the Syrian pupils have lost their fathers in the fighting. This is the definition of an orphan in Middle Eastern culture. Education in Syrian culture is highly valued.
