England. Hadrian's Wall was constructed by the Romans to prevent the Scots from invading. All along the wall there were pictoral stones; this one representing a wild boar. The boar was the symbol of the XXth Legion; this stone is in the museum at Chesters near Hexham in Northumberland, once the Roman fort of Cilurnum, and one of the more central strongholds guarding Hadrian's Wall.
