GB. Home built aircraft. Portraits of six different enthusiasts who have made their own aircraft.Angela USHERWOOD. A Welsh housewife who has almost completed her French designed aircraft called a Jodel. The Jodel, G-HERS, has slowly taken shape over a year and a half in a shed at Angela's home near Swansea. There were problems from the start, the plans were in French so a Concorde engineer had to be enlisted to translate. Angela was pregnant with her fifth child, which made it impossible to continue her flying lessons as she could not pull the stick back far enough. 'There is no complicated woodwork, I wouldn't try to make anything as complex as a chair, it would just wobble.'
