Armenia. Tavush. 2013. Emma is 75 years old and lives in Ayrum. When her husband died she started picking fruit to try and earn a little money. It's a long walk to the forest surrounding the town for someone of her age and getting to the ripest fruit means getting her wrists and ankles scratched by the thorns. When the new Oxfam-funded fruit processing factory opens, Emma will be able to sell more of her fruit to make the effort worthwhile.
