MONGOLIA. Sukhbaatar. 2010. Mountain spirits are worshipped at special shrines called ovoo, which are piles of rocks and tree branches, placed in spots where spirits have shown themselves. This ovoo was right along the side of the road so it gets a lot of traffic. You're supposed to stop the car and walk around the rock pile three times but if youre a frequent traveler its ok to just beep your horn three times. Near Ulaan Bataar.
