TURKEY. Denizli. 2017. Pamukkale is a remarkably well-preserved site of the ancient Roman city "Hierapolis." Rich Romans were coming here for the "water cure" from the mineral springs. The site has been damaged by frequent earthquakes through the centuries but the remains are still very impressive. It is now a Unesco World Heritage site.
