It was perhaps the world's most famous ancient medical center, and is the second-most important site in Pergamon after the Acropolis.

Mehmet - (security guard) says they have lost more than 80% of tourists this year. He said it was hard last year but this year it's totally empty.

One employee said "tourism is totally finished here."
