IRAN. Khuzestan. 2018. Chamsoor Lands close Lali’s fault in Khuzestan province in southwest of Iran with the oldest history, it is often reffered to as the “birth place of the nation”. Khuzestan has still maintains its diverse group but it does have Arabs, Persians, Bakhtiari and ethnic Qashqais and Lors. Khuzestan province is now facing dust storms, dried-up rivers and mounting pollution. While Khuzestan is best known as Iran’s oil-rich province, it also lies in the fertile crescent, on some of the earth’s best water and land. More than 1m hectares of its land are agricultural, and it provides the country with crucial crops during the cold seasons. But this is changing as the rivers die out.
Amiri and Ahmadi’s families are neighbors and are moving together. They have their kids married to each other and they are also relatives now. Forouzan, 24 years old talking on the phone to fix the time with the driver who will drive her father to reach the family in Chamsoor land. Zaman Ahmadi, couldn’t walk and ride with his family because of his back pain. Forouzan started travelling along with her brother, Houman, 30 years old from Ahwaz and they joined their mother, Zahra Amiri, 61 years old and their other brother, Sajjad, 18 years old close to Lali city. Houman will marry a 30 years old girl in the coming summer.
Bibi mah, 45 years old, hugging her daughter Saba, 3 years old. Leila, 11 years old, sitting next to her mother and sister is working with her mom and they believe that she is a really powerful girl within Bakhtiari girls. The mother does all the works with her daughters and the father Yadollah,61 years old joins them only at nights to do his drugs which is mostly opium.
