Maj. Paul Junger, left, hands Garrett Wickens his Dallas Police Department Badge at a pinning ceremony at the police academy. Wickens and the 25 other recruits were sworn in as full police officers after the pinning ceremony. His class was the first to enter training following the July 2016 shooting ambush in downtown Dallas that claimed the lives of five police officers and injured nine others.
