Jerome Sessini
FRANCE. Paris. January, 2018.
The River Seine in the French capital, Paris, has peaked at more than four meters above its normal level. It rose to 5.84m (19.2ft) early on Monday, January 29th.
Weeks of rainfall have produced a relentless rise in the water level forcing 1,500 people to evacuate their homes in Paris region, causing commuter chaos and closing part of the famous Louvre museum. The city's famous Bateaux Mouches tourist boats are also out of service, with only emergency services allowed to use the river.
