Larry Towell
RWANDA. Murambi. December 2005. In the spring of 1994, 50,000 Tutsis had taken refuge in a school where they were found and massacred by Hutu extremists. On this site, 850 bodies have been exhumed, covered with lime, and displayed on wooden slats. The corpses have been left as a tribute to the 800,000 Tutsis massacred in the largest ethnic killing of the decade.
