BANGLADESH. Keraniganj, Dhaka District. 2015. Child labor. Age unknown. Keranigani, on the Buriganga River at the south part of Dhaka, is one of the largest ports in the world. This section of Dhaka District houses hundreds of small local garment factories where laborers are paid by piece. Most work a minimum of twelve hour days, six days a week. Children work for free under two year “training†contracts. Most clothing in these small sweatshops are produced for regional distribution.
