EL SALVADOR. Soyapango. 1992. San Salvador city dump. Child salvages sheet of tin. Residents of the dump would scavange tin, plastic, paper, steel and wood for re-sale. Some material was used to build their homes where they were remained vulnerable to wind, rain and heat and had no running nor electricity. Third World dums remain the work and living sites of many of the world's poorest. (El Salvador, page 107) ©Larry Towell/Magnum Photos
