WEST BANK. Hebron. 1997. A Palestinian child playing on the road between Israeli settlements in the old city of Hebron where about 10,000 Palestinians and a few hundred Jewish settlers live. The Israeli settlements of Tel Rumeida, Beit Hadassah and Avraham Avinu remain in town. The continued presence of the settlements are the justification of the lasting Israeli partial occupation of Hebron and its sporatic closures.
