USA. Bullhead, South Dakota. 2000. The Doughboy. One of only two standing in the U.S., this monument is dedicated to the many Hunkpapas who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War I. It stands a few miles from where Sitting Bull spent the last years of his life. Named for the Indian policeman who was sent to arrest him and then killed him, the tribe has decided to change the village name from Bullhead to Rockcreek.
