VIETNAM. Hanoi. Suel JONES, one of a number of former U.S. soldiers who were active in Vietnam, is the force behind the Van Canh Friendship Village. The girl with him is NGUYEN Thi Van Long, seventeen, was born in Nam Dinh Province. Her father was in the war for five years along the DMZ. She has speech and hearing problems because her ears and mouth are deformed. 2002
