AFGHANISTAN. August 14, 2009. General Stanley MCCHRYSTAL, commander of ISAF forces in Afghanistan, meets with the District Governor of Garmsir, a province in Helmand. McChrystal frequently goes on 'battlefield circulations' around Afghanistan to see for himself the conditions on the frontlines. Later, he went on a patrol through the bazaar in the district center of Garmsir.
