AFGHANISTAN. August 17, 2009. An Afghan soldier wearing eye shadow sniffs a flower during a pause in a patrol searching the village of Mian Poshtay for illegal weapons. The previous day, an IED had been detonated at the entrance to the village. One small IED was found on the patrol.
