Chien-Chi Chang
CHINA. 2007. With Tumen River in between, Hoeryong city in North Hamgyong Province, North Korea is the closest town across the river to Sanhe. Hoeryong is said to be the birthplace of Kim Il Sung's first wife. It is also one of the main crossing points for the North Korean refugees defecting into Chinese border.
