G.B. ENGLAND. London. 1992. Islam under threat. On the night of 27th August 1992, the mosque in Charlton, North London, was set on fire by vandals. This was the second attack, the first one took place during the Gulf War. The Burrough of Greenwich in London contributed at 50% for the purchase of mosquee in 1978. Imam Ali Akbar, from Pakistan, delivers the qotba - friday sermon - in the burnt out mosquee.
