Bangladesh. Khulna. Jessore. Kamarpara village. The soles of this woman's feet show the characteristic black marks of arsenic poisoning. The only well in the village has its pump painted red to show that the water is contaminated with arsenic. The village can choose between this water and river water which brings its own diseases.
