The funeral ceremony of the photographer Robert CAPA in the Hanoi cemetery's mortuary, in the presence of French Gen Robert COGNY, when the casket draped in the American flag was decorated with the Croix de Guerre Avec Palmes.Robert CAPA was born on the 22nd October 1913 in Budapest as Andre FRIEDMANN, and while on assignment for Life Magazine, died by mine explosion on the 25th May 1954 when accompanying troops in the delta of the Red River along the route between Nam Dinh and Thai Binh.The casket was first buried in Hanoi, and later returned to the United States for burial at Amawalk (45 klms for NYC)
