Although there are only four pupils, the school must be kept open for them. When they are a little older the children are obliged to attend secondary school in Kirkwall on the Mainland - which is what they call the largest island. The doctor's surgery at North Ronaldsay also boasts the smallest patient list in the UK : just 90 people'. 1998.
