WEST BANK. Hebron. 1997. Palestinians behind an iron grill wall in Hebron following the arrival of Palestinian police and the partial withdrawl of the Israeli army. On the other side of the wall Palestinian flags hang on strings throughout the city in anticipation of an independent Palestinian state. The wall seperates the Palestinian from the Israeli section of Hebron. In front of the gate is Israeli Jewish settlements of Beit Hadassah. The continued presence of the settlements are the justification for the lasting Israeli occupation of Hebron.
