Town of Fécamp. February 6, 2000.
Ceremony of the Festival of St. Pierre des Marins.
Placing of decorations before the monument dedictaed to the marines who died in Fécamp in the tenth century.
This monument was sculpted out of sandstone by Alexandre Bigott (1904, garden of the Museum of Arts and Childhood). The details replicated on its extremities represent a Viking ship Drakkar, used in the tenth century, when the city was conquered and destroyed during their fervous expansions from the eastern to the western part of Normandy.
