at the top of the Tower the metallic clamps are put into positition, making sure to avoid any discrepency up to a millimeter per millimeter. These clamps will hold 8 x 23 cable stays which support the bridges deck.It is a pivatal part of the construction, as from these points hang the stays from which are suspended the whole weight of the decks that carry the traffic.Eatch metal clamp will be soldered to the other, and each soldered joint will be Xrayed to be sure of its reistance value. The clamps were produced by a French section of the Germany company DILLINGER STAHL Gau (located in the Sarre), and had been impossible to install during the freqiemt womds pf 40 klms per hour blowing down the Estuary of the Seine river.
