In the little schoolroom attached to the detention room for children at Women's Police headquarters, a policewoman explains to children brought in for minor traffic offences, the dangers of jumping on the rear of trams, especial at points where the tram-lines converge.
The Women's Police have been started since the war, consists of young, mostly attractive women trained specially in child psychology. Their main function is to look after vagrant children who seem in need of care, and to watch for prostitution.
