East Jerusalem, 7th June 1967.In the course of the War of Independence in 1948, the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem was captured by the Jordanian "Arab Legion", and from then on Jewish worshippers were denied access to the Western Wall (also known as the Wailing Wall).The Israeli Paratroop Brigade burst into the Old City and from there descended to liberate the Western Wall.
