CHINA. Shanghai. 1949.
Students dancing the "Yanko" during a parade. Farmers from Northern China would traditionally sing and dance the "Yanko" at springtime, during harvest. The "Yanko" was then adopted by the Popular Army, it followed them in their tracks and and spread to all corners of the country. It became incredibly popular and many products took on the name "Yanko" for advertising.
