IRAN. Kerman. Woman reading newspaper in the street. Women of Iran seem to have lost their colors. Most of them wear black, perpetuating the mourning of the early martyrs of Shi'sm for the traditionalists; to "be left alone" for the modernists. The chador imposed by the Islamic Republic, does not hide their feminity. It reveals it. Women take part in all aspects of life in Iran. Creators and artists are the vanguard of change in society, since the election of ayatollah Khatami to the Presidency in May 1997.
