The figural group on the left is probably a design for a large motorway monument by Josef Thorak, who, as Academy lecturer, had an atelier here. The seated figure in the middle is a plaster cast of the seated Hermes of the Herculaneum with an aries-relief from the school of German artist Adolph Hildebrand.
