The reincarnation of Kalou Rimpotche, who was born in 1990, is the two year old son of Lama Gyaltsen the nephew of the former Kalou Rimpotche (who died in 1989).Lama Gyaltsen took care of the former Kalou Rimpotche for over 40 years. The reborn (re incarnated) present Kalou Rimpotche is 2 years and 4 months old, he is photographed here on the throne during the intronisation ceremonies in the Sonada monastery. On left is Sitou Rimpotche who is the main regent of the Kagxupa lineage whose spiritual head will be one day the 8 year old Karmapa who lives in Tibet. Contested by some Lamas he has not been able to leave Tibet as of yet. Kalou Rimpotche (the child on the throne) is destined to be the spiritual head of the Changpa lineage, and depending on his character and capabilities will no doubt play an eminent role in the Kagyupa lineage as well.
